This sport takes place
on the Santa River, which crosses the Callejón de
Huaylas at its 180 Km. from South to North, bordering the
Cordillera Blanca y Cordillera Negra to finally empty into
the Pacific Ocean. The levels of difficulty vary from easy
which is the most requested and popular level, to the most
technical.
The most visited zone is between Jangas and Pueblo
Libre, in Caraz.

| Departure from the city of Huaraz at 7 AM heading
towards North of the Callejón de Huaylas, passing by
the provinces of Carhuaz and Yungay, having Pueblo Libre as
our destination. Upon arrival we get ready for a short instruction
on the sport, what to do and what not to do during the 60
or 120 minutes the trajectory of the waters of the Santa Rio.
Then, we return to Huaraz at approximately 4:30 PM. |
