1 Day: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral
After having breakfast, at aroud 7am we will be departing heading
towards the north of the callejón de huaylas, passing by the
provinces of carhuaz,yungay,caraz , to arrive to the town of cashapampa(3150m),
where we will beging our trek through the narrow valley of the Santa
Cruz river valley. After approximately 3 hours we will arrive to the
first camping ground llamacoral (3800m).
2 Day. Llamacorral – Base Camp Arhuey Cocha
Today we will have a moderate walk along the valley, and
we’ll enjoy the beautiful landscapes along with two beautiful
lakes called Hatuncococha and Ichicocha. Afterwards, we will arrive
to Quisuar; from here we will ascend in zigzag until we reach the
base camp of the Alpamayo (4250m).
3 Day. Base Camp – Camp 1
After breakfast we will ascend to the morrean through a rocky
trail for approximately 3 hours until reaching the glacier (5000m).
From here on we will use our climbing equipment, in order to walk
for approximately 2.5 hours until we reach the overpass (5600m), from
there we will descend for half and tour until the High Camp (c1.5400m)
4 Day. Camp 1 – Summit – Camp 1.
Today we will have breakfast at around 2 or 3 in the morning,
to then initiate our trek on the snow until the base of the wall of
the Quitaraju; its inclination is of approximately 75º, and is
here where our climbing starts. After approximately 3 hours, we will
ascend to the summit (6036m), where we will have and impressing view
of the summits in this part of the Cordillera Blanca. After being
in the summit for a few minutes, we will descend by rappel, arriving
to the camping site at approximately 12 or 1 PM.
5 Day. Camp 1 – Base Camp
After breakfast in the glacier, we will take the same route
to go back the base camp (4250m).
6 Day. Base Camp – Cashapampa – Huancarhuaz Hot
Springs
Today we will head back through the same valley, Santa Cruz,
until we arrive to cashapampa. From there we will go directly to the
thermal baths of Huancarhuaz for a relaxing bath. In the afternoon
we will return to Cashapampa (3150m) where we will camp.
7 Day. Cashapampa – Huaraz
After these unforgettable days of adventure, it is time to board the
bus that will take us back to the city of Huaraz. We will arrive there
at approximately 1PM.
