El nevado Alpamayo con su extraordinaria forma de pirámide, fue calificado en la encuesta mundial sobre bellazas escénicas en Munich, Alemania, en 1966, como "el nevado más hermoso del mundo". Su cumbre alcanza los 5,947 m .s.n.m. Cada año cientos de montañistas y aventureros de los lugares más alejados del mundo llegan al Perú para intentar su difícil y extraordinaria cumbre.
Fue escalado por primera vez en 1957 por G. Hauser, B. Huhn, F. Knauss y H. Wiedmann. Donde además se encuentra la mundialmente famosa ruta Ferrari abierta en 1975 por montañistas italianos liderados por Casimiro Ferrari.

(A) Alpamayo (5,947 masl)
Duration: 7 days / 6 nights (in the mountain)
The snow-capped mountain Alpamayo with its extraordinary pyramid shape was classified in a world-wide contest in Munich, Germany in 1966 as "the most beautiful mountain in the world". Its summit reaches the 5,947 masl. Each year hundreds of mountaineers and adventurers of the most foreign places in the world come to Peru to try the ascent of its difficult and extraordinary summit.
It was first climbed in 1957 by G. Hauser, B. Huhn, F. Knauss and H. Wiedmann. It is where the most famous rute is found, Ferrari, opened in 1975 by Italian mountaineers guided by Casimiro Ferrari.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Huaraz –Jatuncocha Lake (3,900 m.)
Day 2: Jatuncocha Lake – Base Camp (CB 4,300 m .)
Day 3: Base Camp (BC) – Camp 1 (C1 Collado 5,300 m .)
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Ascension of the Alpamayo (5,947 m.) – Camp 1 (C1)
Day 6: Camp 1 (C1) –Jatuncocha Lake
Day 7: Jatuncocha Lake - Huaraz


(B) ALPAMAYO CLIMB (5,947 m.)
For the ascent of the most beautiful mountain in the world, we count with a program that goes with your physical condition.

Day 01. - Arrival to the city of Lima and transfer to Huaraz, transfer to the hotel.
Day 02.- Acclimatization with one-day activities.
Day 3- Bus transfer from Huaraz to the town of Cashapampa (2,900 m.) Beginning of trek by the Santa Cruz river valley unti the first camping ground in llamacorral.
Day 04.- From llamacorral we will ascend through a zigzagging trail until reaching the Alpamayo base camp.
Day 05.- Very early we will ascend to Camp 1 from where we will observe the most famous face of the Alpamayo.
Day 06.- From camp 1 we will ascend at midnight until the base of the characteristic Rimaya and after passing it, we will enter the base of the canaleta Ferrari which takes us to the summit (5,947 m.). Return to camp 1.
Day 07.- Descent to base Camp and afternoon of rest.
Day 08.- From the Base camp, we will return to Cashapampa to return to Huaraz.
In case of bad weather or altitude problems we will give you a day free or an extra day.
